<td width="100%">
A FINE & RARE Large Eighteenth Century Chinese Famille Porcelain Vase, hand-painted with traditional Chinese taste decoration depicting an awesome dragon twisting around the body with hundreds of blossoming flowers painted around, measuring 11.75" in height by 6" wide. A large Round Chinese Shou, which means longevity, is painted between the dragon?s head and tail. Above the oval shaped body is a pair of stylized elephant heads gilded with gold. The border of the vase is gilded with gold thread. The vase is marked with the four-character reign mark of the Qianlong Emperor in the base.

This is a truly wonderful example richly painted with vibrant colors. The piece is constructed from slabs of clay and 4 blossoming lotus bords a small square containing the Qianlong mark. The broad and somewhat grand painting is marvelously fluent, and is typical of early Qianlong wares.

A rare-to-find example and a most worthy addition to any collection!

Condition: Hole to base. Otherwise in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or restoration whatsoever. The paintwork is not flaked and is not worn or rubbed.
