We attempt to take as deatiled an Image as possible of both the Obverse and Reverse of all coins and currency, While we try and accurately grade each coin, as coin grading is subjective, we encourage you to asses the pictures yourself and make a grading judgement yourself. We always 100% guarantee authenticity, but we do not guarantee any specific grade, nor do we guarantee that NGC or PCGS or any other grading company will agree to grade the coin. We strive for your repeat business and do everything we can to accurately photograph and describe the coin/currency.
Very attractive pastel toning. This is one of the Keys to the entire Silver Commemorative series. Less than 5% of the Grant Commemoratives were made with the star variety. This example is nicely toned with a good strike. The Grant halves are notoriously difficult to grade, partly because raised die lines on the obverse look at first glance like hairlines or scratches. Points to check for wear include Grant’s cheek and the hair above his ear. The reverse’s dense design tends to mask imperfections and wear, but light friction often can be detected in the treetops. Coin World's Coin Values lists ms64 at $3500 and The Wholesale Greysheet lists ms64 at $2900. Estimated Value $3000
