"The Wild Goose",Green Midas marble carved tile, featuring a portrait of a goose. Signed "R. Rotondo" by the artist on the lower left corner. Artwork label attached on verso. 6 x 6 in. (15.24 x 15.24 cm). After having completed his training at the Fine Arts Institute in Naples, Raffaele Rotondo spent the next six years perfecting his technique at the Vitrone workshop. In 1981, he opened a sculpting workshop in Montreal, where he had already been practicing his craft for fifteen years. Inspired by Inuit culture, which he feels is a symbol of all that is good and just, his work depicts realistic scenes from the Arctic life of man, animals and birds. A testament to his ever-growing popularity, his works can now be found everywhere around the world.
