This is an R.H. Ruana skinner knife and leather scabbard made in 1983. Rudy Ruana began making custom knives in the 1930's. His business has been family owned from the beginning and is still in operation today in Bonner, Montana. Ruana knives are highly regarded and sought after by knife collectors and enthusiasts. The knife features a broad sweeping hardened steel blade and an aluminum handle with inset antler grips. The handle is stamped "R.H. Ruana Bonner Montana", a hallmark that was only used in 1983. As told by his grandson, Rudy, he got tired of people asking what the "M" stamp meant so it was no longer used from 1983 on. In 1984, the hallmark was changed to "Ruana Bonner Montana" thus dropping the "R.H.". The knife comes with the original leather scabbard that features a sharpening stone with holster built in. The Ruana knife is in good condition. It measures 10.5" with a 5" blade.
