Featured in this lot is this framed hand tinted photograph of Lake MacDonald in Glacier National Park Montana by Montana photographer R.E. Marble born in 1883 - 1932. The photograph features a wonderfully and professionally crafted hand tinted photograph that shows the whole of Lake MacDonald with snowcapped mountains in the distance. Ray Elmer Marble (Montana, 1883-1938) was an iconic Montana photographer who had a studio in Belton, Montana and Whitefish, Montana and was hired by the Great Northern Railway to take scenic pictures of Glacier National Park for its railroad brochures until 1924. The condition of this photograph is shows well preserved stature with some wear to the outside frame of the photograph but otherwise shows no obvious signs of damage to the photograph. The measurements of this photograph are 6 3/4" x 11" and the visible photograph measures 5 7/8" x 10 1/8".
