Ronald David Digby was born in 1936 in Great Britain. He credits David Reid-Henry, a neighbor, for introducing him to the sport of Falconry early in is life. From there it was a short jump to start painting the animals he loved. By the age of 15 Ronald was flying his first hawk.

In 1956, while serving in the army and stationed on Salisbury Plain, Digby met Phillip Glazier and Jack Mavrogordato. In that year he flew his first Peregrine Falcon at Rooks. In 1957 he joined the British Falconers Club. Since then he has flown Goshawks, Sparrow Hawks, Merlins and currently flies a homebred Tiercel Peregrine at Grey Partridges.

By 1977 Ronald David Digby was able to make painting his profession. He works primarily in watercolor & gouache, oil paints and pencil drawing. "Much of my work " Digby says, "has been for exhibition, commissions and illustration projects." His illustrations are included in "Falcons of the World", "The Falconers Journal", "The Birds of the Thai-Malay Peninsula, Journals of the Clubs of Austria, California and B.F.C", "The Aviclutural Magazine" and Hal Webster's "North American Falconry & Hunting Hawks".

Digby currently resides in southern Great Britain. He annually exhibits in England's Falconer's Fair held in May.
