1860 Unusual and rare document. This hand-written and signed Deed dictates the sale of "10` in the Sucker Company`s Claims, Gold Hill Mining District, on August 21st, 1860, for the sum of $400.00." The reverse side, under the heading "Deed," is signed by "Alfred Lovewill To Jos H. Moon." A. Lovewill was from Silver City, and Mr. Moon was from Virginia City. At that time, both Silver City & Virginia City were in the Utah Territory. The Attorney listed at the bottom is Frank M. Pixley of Virginia City, U.T. who received fees of $3.00 for his services. FH believes this to be one of the earliest documents printed in Virginia City. Folded out, this document measures 14"x8.5". It is in good to very good condition, with tears in the fold creases. The Sucker Company of the Gold Hill Mining District later changed its name to the "Succor Gold & Silver Mining Company." - HKA#65193
