Quilled Breastplate. A wonderful and very scarce item of Plains Indian decoration. This breastplate is unusual in design, using quillwork instead of bone. Bright red quillwork field with zig-zag patterns of green and white. Trimmed along the edges with cotton cloth and down the center with silk cloth and small studs. Tufted red dyed feathers and dozens of tin cones decorate the bottom. 20" tall by 11" across, circa late 1800s. An interesting and rare Plains artifact.
