Handwritten letter, in part: "The Queen has rec'd Mr. Walpole's letter of the 9—She approves that the Rev: Mr. Christian sh'd be appointed to the vacant Parish…With respect to the Professorial Chair of Chemistry at Glasgow, as Mr. Walpole truly observes…it is very difficult to make a selection." In very good to fine condition, with staining to the last page from old adhesive residue on the reverse.
