Queen consort of Prussia as the wife of King Frederick William III (1776–1810). ALS in German, signed "Luisa," one page, 4.25 x 5, January 9, 1806. In part (translated): "This box of little value but of importance because of the date in this happy era which it marks…accept…as a token of my deepest gratitude for the care you provide for my children. No one knows better than you why Fritz's 10th birthday was and is so important to me." Archivally matted and framed with a portrait to an overall size of 13 x 9. In very good to fine condition. Queen Louise's son "Fritz," Frederick William IV, would become king of Prussia in 1840.
