Manuscript DS in Spanish, signed “Yo la Reyna,” one page, 8.75 x 12.25, October 10, 1499. Queen Isabella issues instructions to her chamberlain, Sancho de Paredes, to fetch seven and one-third yards of fine black cloth given to her by the bishop of Avila to make gowns for her daughters; one of these daughters later came to be known as Catharine of Aragon. Signed at the conclusion by Queen Isabella and countersigned by her secretary, Gaspar de Trizio. Beautifully mounted, double-matted, and framed with engraved portraits to an overall size of 24 x 21. In fine condition. A rare and supremely appealing document. Oversized.
