Wonderful vintage matte-finish 8.25 x 11.25 full-length portrait of the royal couple standing together in front of a large window, with the queen looking at the camera and wearing a lovely strapless dress with the Riband and Star of the Order of the Garter and the Diamond Diadem crown, and Prince Philip standing at her side and wearing his Admiral of the Fleet uniform, signed on the original studio mount in fountain pen, "Elizabeth R., 1957" and "Philip." Mounted and framed to an overall size of 11 x 14. In fine condition. A particularly desirable official royal photograph—Queen Elizabeth has perhaps never looked so beautiful.

The consignor notes that the photograph was presented to the late Noel Vernon Lough on the occasion of the Queen’s visit to the United States of America in 1957. Noel Lough was a New Zealand diplomat stationed in Washington, D.C., who later became Secretary of the Treasury.
