<Our item number 119896><B>Anne.</B> &#40;1665-1714&#41; Queen of Great Britain and Ireland &#40;1702-1714&#41;; she was the second daughter of James, Duke of York, who became James II and was deposed in 1688 because of his Roman Catholic faith. Anne became queen after her sister Mary &#40;Mary II&#41; and her brother-in-law William &#40;William III&#41;, who ruled jointly, died childless. Anne, who married George of Denmark, had no surving children, making her the last monarch of the House of Stuart. England and Scotland were united as one realm during her reign. Fine; light toning and a few repairs on verso to small edge splits. Written on laid, watermarked paper. Receiver and paymaster of Our Land Forces which are or Shall be in the Islan d of Minorca and in the Guarisons of Dunkirke and Gibralter and such other of Our Land Forces still remaining in the Low Countrys or elsewhere as are or have been under the care of James Brydges Esqr. paymaster thereof or to his assignes any Sum or Sums of money not exceeding One hundred Thousand pounds by way of Imprest and upon Acct. for the Services to which he is appointed Receiver and paymaster</I>….&#34; The War of the Spanish Succession ended with the Treaty of Utrich in 1713.
