For your consideration is this Quarter Sawn Oak sectional barrister bookcase made by Macey Co. The Macey Company was founded in 1896 by Fred Macey in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The company produced oak card indexes and file systems, sectional bookshelves, library tables, etc. In 1905 Macey merged with Wernicke Furniture and changed the name to Macey-Wernicke. In 1907, the name was simplified to The Macey Company. Macey continued making furniture until 1940, when the plant in Grand Rapids closed. This Sectional Barrister features quarter-sawn oak with glass doors that open and slide back along the top of the section. Each sectional division is concealed along the sides of the bookcase with a metal band. The piece can be dismantled into six pieces: a top crown molding, four glass sectionals and a base. The piece measures 62" H X 34" W X 10 1/4" D.
