Quail Ridge Studios One of a Kind Hand Woven Churro Wool Purse by George Smith, measures 10” x 12”, this is what is called a flat bottom bag, black and white wool woven by Larry McLellan also of Quail Ridge Studios, purse has 3 turquoise colored bead dangles with a decorative concho on one side and buckle and decor on the other side, the front of the purse has a concho with horse hair tassel, single black leather strap, magnetic clasp, has 3 inside pockets one of which is zippered, the inside of the purse is decorated with tan and cream cotton muslin (ticking in brown), also has a key fob inside attached with black ribbon, a fabulous must have southwestern bag, the white fleece used in this particular bag is Navajo Churro and is from a native New Mexico ram by the name of “Samson”, the heritage of this wool dates back to the 1600s when the Spanish brought this breed to New Mexico, this particular wool is/was used to weave blankets and rugs as it has a fleece not compatible for clothing,The magic of the Desert Southwest is timeless in its display of open landscapes, sunrise and sunset colors with infinite possibilities of artistic expression.
