18th. century large zitan wood box containing a full set of calligraphy with jade ornaments. It is composed of 7 items: large seal, inkstone, brush rest, brush wash container, brush with cover, jade scroll weight and seal. All the items except the inkstone and the seal have an incised decoration in spinach green jade in shape of a dragon that clearly displays the 5 claws and indicating the imperial order made manufacture. The large seal handle is in shape of 2 back to back BiXie and the seal has the archaic seal of emperor Qien Lung. The small seal still has traces of red ink in the crevices indicating the previous use. Box size: 11" X 8" X 4" 928 X 20 X 10 cm.). The large seal measures 3.1" X 3.1" (8 X 8 cm.). The seal weight measures 6.2" (16 cm) in length.; small seal measures 2" (5 cm.), calligraphy brush length: 8.2" (21 cm.), brush wash diameter: 2.5" (6.3 cm.); inkstone: 4" (10 cm.); brush rest: 3" (7.5 cm.).
