Qing period celadon jade carving in shape of a immortal female deity playing biwa (one of the 7 immortals). The carving is flawless in pure celadon jade and probably dates to the reign of emperor Qien Lung. The back is in shape of a lotus leaf. Length: 5.5" (14 cm.), width: 2.3" (6 cm.). Estimated market value: $6000. From Dr. Veleanu's collection, the author of the collectors' textbook: "Jade, 5000 BC to 1912 AD, Guide to collectors".
