<td width="100%">
A fine Qing dynasty YongZheng period qinghua charger, ca.1723-35. Dimensions are 12-3/8" diameter, 2-1/2" tall. This charger was painted in rich underglaze cobalt-blue on a bluish-white ground. The inner decoration a depiction of 2 horses, an auspicious bat on a rolling hillside. The artwork is loose and free in a very stylized manner. The artist appears to have drawn these horses and scene from his imagination. His attention to coloration and patterns on these horses are more spiritual than accurate to nature. The scenes are playful and light. The artist's broad brushstrokes can be easily seen in the design varying the shades of the rich cobalt-blue. The underside of the charger is painted with pine branches. The foot and foot rim is unglazed. The overall condition consensus is extremely fine condition without any injury or repair.
