Qing Dynasty Circa 1880-1900. Made of fir wood, these plates were often used during wedding ceremonies. It was used to hold nuts and snacks. This is a Bride's plate. It is octagon shaped representing the eight great celestials of buddhism. The gold leaf designs on the plate's border indicates a wealthy new beginning. This plate is in excellent condition. This plate is from Zhejiang and has the validation sticker on back. It measures approx. 10 1/2".
