Chinese foreign minister (1913–1983) from 1974 to 1976, whose talks with Henry Kissinger played an important role in the drafting of the Shanghai Communique. Glossy 6 x 8 photo of Qiao Guanhua shaking hands with former British Prime Minister Alexander Frederick Douglas-Home, signed on the reverse in ink by Qiao in Chinese and dated June 14, 1974. Photo is also annotated on the reverse in an unknown hand. Affixed to a slightly larger piece of cardstock. Moderate scattered creases, mainly to image side, but a few to signed side as well, otherwise fine condition; signature remains bold and unaffected.
