Gupta Dynasty, Purugupta (467-473 CE), Gold Heavy Dinar, Large flan, "Archer" type, Obv: the king standing, nimbate, facing left, king is in dhoti and his sash tied around his waist has a big loop at right, holding a longbow in his left hand and an arrow in his right, a Garuda standard on the left field and the Brahmi letter “tya” above it, the Brahmi legend "Parahita……" on the right field, Rev: the goddess Lakshmi, nimbate, seated in the padmasana posture on a seven-petaled lotus, holding a diadem in her right hand and a lotus in her left hand, whose stem is coming from inside the hand resting on her thigh, tamgha on the top-left field, the Brahmi legend "Sri Vikramah" on the right field, dotted border around, 9.3g,21.77mm, (Unlisted in Altekar/BMC, Pl. # XXI-24-25/TGE, S. Kumar # Page No. 375), sharp and bold strike, showcasing a reverse with intricate depth, where features such as eyes, nose, earrings are clearly visible, one of the finest known, choice quality, almost uncirculated, Extremely Rare.
