Purdey full sidelock double-barrel shotgun, 12ga, 30” barrels, double-triggers, auto ejectors, raised and hand-filed rib, non-ventilated, English style straight stock, finely bank-note and scroll engraved in typical Purdy motifs, serial #23196. The barrels show Nitro proofs, 2-7/8” chambers for 1-1/4”oz of shot. The barrels show an English quality refinish to excellent condition. The bores are in fine condition and there is no problem with barrel thickness. The locks show 65-75% original case hardening. The triggerguard shows 50-60% thinning original blue. The release lever shows most of its original blue just slightly thinning. The stock measures 15-1/8” to the end of the wood, 15-7/8” to the end of the English type hard-rubber pad. The stocks have been professionally refreshed and are not undersized against the metal and the refurbish work is English quality. The gun is contained within its original red felt-lined case with Purdey label in lid. The interior of the case shows some normal fading and fraying, two English snap caps, some small accessories in the compartment, and original Purdey label in lid.
