Puccini writes to a Mr. Rocca at the Grand Theater of Montpellier France about his Opera <I>Manon Lescaut</I>: &#34;Dear Mr. Rocca, I thank you for the news regarding Manon and I am delighted at your success. Mr. Ricordi will be in Milan in the month of April….&#34; Manon Lescaut premiered in Paris in 1910. It was an immense success, both with the audience and the critics and established Puccini as a foremost opera composer. Giulio Ricordi was Puccini&#39;s life-long friend and music publisher.
