Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt. Berenike II, wife of Ptolemy III, 246-222/1 BC. Gold Pentadrachm (21.38 g) minted at Alexandria. Diademed and veiled bust right of Berenike II, wearing necklace. Reverse: Cornucopiae bound with fillet; on either side, star; beneath, monogram resembling Christogram. Svoronos 962 (plate xxix, 17). Very rare. A few scattered marks, none too serious and still Extremely Fine. .

This variant was known to Svoronos from only one specimen. It was a highlight of the Consul Weber Collection, which was auctioned in 1909 .
