AR Attic Tetradrachm &#40;16.71 gm&#41;, struck c. 314-310 BC.</B> <I>Obverse die by the &#34;Delta Master.&#34;</I> Head of Alexander right, wearing elephant headdress, which becomes an aegis at the shoulders; small delta to right of base of elephant&#39;s ear. <I>Reverse</I>: Athena Alkidemos on tiptoes right, brandishing spear and shield; EY and eagle atop thunderbolt in right field. Svoronos 42; SNG Cop. 15; Zervos Series D, Issue XIV. Sharply struck up, the details of the elephant skin complete. The Attic weight tetradrachm series is rare. <B>NGC graded About Uncirculated.</B> <BR><BR>Earlier, numismatists tended to attribute letters and partial names as artists&#39; signatures more often than we do today.
