Round cabochon black opal (2.38 ct) displays a dark gray body tone with vibrant rolling flashes of emerald green and royal blue overlaid by pin-points and streaks of fiery red, orange, and touches of violet. These patches form a broad-flash / mosaic pattern that shifts noticeably as the stone moves. The gem is claw-set inside an open, pear-shaped PT900 frame pavé-set with 0.64 ct of round diamonds. Minor surface nicks. Play-of-color remains strong across the face. Diamonds grade B. Platinum shows light tarnish from normal wear. Comes with a complimentary display chain, which is not included in the valuation or weight of the piece.
