<B>Psalter Leaf</B></I> <BR>Northeastern France. <BR>Ca. 1200-1210.<BR>6-1/2" x 9-1/8" leaf, 15-1/2" x 18-5/8" frame.<BR>Single illuminated recto page of a single folio from a 13th century French Psalter in Latin. Psalm 86 "Fundamenta ejus in montibus sanctis" and Psalm 87 "Domine, Deus salutis meæ." The initial "F" has two winged dragons in pink and red on a gold leaf ground, while the initial "D" is in gold leaf on a ground of blue and gold tracery. The rubrics are in blue or gold, with blue or red tracery, and more decoration in blue, red and gold ink at the end of each line of text. Gothic script, black ink, the parchment is in good condition.
