This other ranks lance cap is from the Kaiser Wilhelm I era. Uhlans were a form of light cavalry that carried lances. They were copied by various nations including Germany. The skull, peak and mortar board are all steel with a back coating. The mortar board has a field badge that is white with a black center and the backside is green. There is a brass German eagle wearing a crown, holding a scepter and holding an orb badge on the front marked "FR" on his chest, and "MIT GOTT FUR KOENIG UND VATERLAND" across the wings.
