Province of Pennsylvania. March 1, 1769. One Pound Ten Shillings or Thirty Shillings Indented Bill. Fr. PA-132. PCGS Very Fine-30 Details. Minor Mounting Remnants. As illustrated.

Description: Thin coarse paper. Serial No. 3837. Plate A. Signed by I. Jones, J. Gibson, and D. Roberdeau. Two-Sided. Printed by David Hall and William Sellers. Printed Leaves back design. 90mm by 70mm. To Counterfeit Is Death. Pennsylvania spelling in text. An exceptional survivor from a printing of 4,000 notes using three plate positions. A gorgeous note physically and visually, and readily among the finest known notes on the Act. “The fact that a Condition Census potential note can be far from Uncirculated, indicates the extensive circulation of many of the colonial-era note issues,” wrote the Ford cataloger, a valid point with well-meant information. Evenly margined, tight to the design all around, with solid black inking on both sides. It is difficult to imagine a finer note from the Act, in any denomination. A future focal point cabinet highlight.
