Produced circa 1866 in Providence, Rhode Island. Blade front and adjustable rear sights, with the letter "W" stamped on the left barrel side at the breech. The left side of the receiver is marked with the 5 line patent/address, with "E" on the breechblock and "K" on the hammer. Smooth straight grip stock with 2 barrel bands, a small "WC" cartouche on the left side of wrist, and contemporary leather sling. With "US" marked socket bayonet with scabbard and frog.

Condition: Fine. The barrel retains 40% faded original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina with some minor spotting. The receiver and lock plate retain flashes of original case colors with the balance a smooth brown patina with some minor spotting. The wood is fine with some minor dings, scratches, and pressure dents with a couple of slivers of wood missing along the ramrod channel. Mechanically excellent.
