From the report: "The Franklin Lode is a lode well-known to every miner in Colorado. It is situated in Clear Creek county, in the Territory of Colorado,Idaho Mining District, three miles and a half from Central City, the queen of mountain towns of the Territory." William Talbot states: "he has never seen in any of the mines as large a vein of solid mineral as appears in the Said Franklin Lode; nor has he seen any other lode in the territory which can be more easily or advantageously worked."
