I'm interested in the history of construction, in the way things are assembled and conceived. Sometimes I feel less like a sculptor than like someone interested in construction. When I look at a building, I try to understand its structural logic, where the piers and joints are located, etc. I experience a kind of pleasure in the volumes some architects create. Yet one rarely senses a quality of disjunction in them. Architects use the totality of the volume, they rarely make the space move or twist.
