Extremely rare original operations manual titled “Project Mercury Spacecraft 16 Flight Operations Manual,” contract NAS 5-59, basic date August 1, 1962, and revision date August 10, 1962. Manual is in its original three-ring binder, measures 10.25 x 11.5, and contains over 100 pages. The title page states, “This document contains astronaut and ground controller information,” and bears printed signatures of four officials, including Sigma 7 astronaut Wally Schirra. Manual is full of flow charts, check lists, and procedures towards the lift off of the vehicle. In very good condition, with scattered soiling (heavier on the first page) and toning, and expected light handling wear.
