This is an original lock and key used by the Bureau of Industrial Alcohol. These locks were used by the U.S Government during prohibition to secure warehouses, containers, and shipments of alcohol. A paper seal was inserted into the lock and was used to determine if the lock had been unlocked or tampered with. The lock is made from solid brass and is marked "U.S. B.I.A." and "Slaymaker Lanc. Pa.". The lock comes with the original key. The lock and key have matching numbers and the key does work to open the lock. The lock and key are in good condition. The lock measures 2.5" x 4".
