Signed color postcard from Jack Dempsey's New York City restaurant depicting Dempsey knocking out Jess Willard at the Toledo Athletic Club in Toledo, Ohio on 4 July 1919 to become the world champion. The first round of the fight has been recorded as the most brutal in boxing history -- Willard was so badly beaten that he was forced to give up by the third round. Dempsey signs on the verso: ''Lots of Luck / Jack Dempsey''. Postcard measures 5.5'' x 3.5'' with minor toning, else fine condition.
