This picture is from the Detroit Federal Savings Series 1976. It is a print of the ship Brig General Gage, which sailed the waters around Michigan in the 18th and 19th century. It was drawn by F.R. Crevier, who reconstructed the ship from data and descriptions he obtained about it, as the actually ship no longer exists. This print contains the following text underneath the drawing of the ship.

Brig General Gage
Built 1772
Royal Navy Yard, Foot of Woodward, Detroit
Reconstructed from dimensions, descriptions and a contemporary painting of the riverfront. Length on deck \72? ; Beam \22? ; Depth in hold \8? ; Shown at anchor with her gunports closed; she fought no battles but with the fleet, kept British Law and order on the Great Lakes, under the command of Commodore Alex Grant, R.N.

This is a very interesting print for any history or sailing enthusiast and it is in excellent condition. It has been tastefully matted with colors that echo the colors in the sails and body of the ship. A handsome wooden frame complements the ship and the whole package recreates the aura of the strong wooden ship used long ago. The size is 21.5x25.75 inches, including the frame. This is a wonderful piece, and would be an excellent addition to any collection.
