Sirmur, copper takka in the name of Girvan Yuddha, king of Nepal (1806-1815 AD), Nahan mint, AH 1227, VS '69' (AD 1812), KM C21, 17.05g. Obv: Farsi legend Shri maharajah Girban Judh (Bikram) Shah Bahadur. Rev: Zarb Nahan 1227 Sambat 69 (in Nagari numerals) and 'dagger' symbol.

About extremely fine, Very rare.

The Nepalese armies reached in Sirmur in 1806 and remained in control until 1815, when the British annexed the state. Not much is known about the striking or circulation of coinage within the territory in this period, apart from very scarce coins. The weight standard of this issue is very different from that used by the Nepalese in either Garhwal or Almora.
