Prince's personally-owned and -worn black Versus Gianni Versace long-sleeve silk shirt with a gold flower pattern and silver buttons, size 34/48, purchased and worn by Prince in the early to mid 1990s. In fine condition. Accompanied by letters of authenticity from Chris Davidson of PrinceArchives.com, and Jeff Lowe of Beaufort Liquidation. Lowe acquired a collection of Prince's personal items in 2007 directly from Prince's ex-wife, Mayte Garcia, who had received them as part of their divorce settlement. Prince sued Lowe in federal court to prevent his sale of the items to the Hard Rock Cafe; a copy of the court filing is included. Davidson's letter reads, in part: "According to Prince's first wife, Mayte Garcia, 'Prince loved clothes and they often went shopping by limousine down Melrose Ave., purchasing clothes under the 'fast and plenty' approach so that they could avoid being mobbed but still have fun and purchase the latest styles in fashion.'" In her book, The Most Beautiful: My Life with Prince, Garcia wrote that Prince often found his preferred styles in the women's section, and often stole her clothes and have them altered for himself by Paisley Park's seamstresses.
