A convert at the age of 14, Spurgeon claimed that God reveled his will to Spurgeon as he took shelter from a snow storm in a small church. Spurgeon was a Baptist and a Calvinist in the tradition of the Puritans, and is especially highly regarded amongst Presbyterian and Congregationalists.
