Sought-after ballpoint signatures, "Prince," "Dez D.," "Bobby Z.," "Andre," and "Doctor Fink," on the reverse of a 4.25 x 1.5 concert ticket issued by promoter Steve Myers. In fine condition, with one tiny corner stain.

Accompanied by a lengthy provenance letter from the original recipient, which reads, in part: "A girlfriend and I were at the Columbus Municipal Auditorium in Georgia on December 17th, 1981 to see Prince during the 'Controversy' tour and were issued special entrance tickets from the promoter Steven Myers (which explains the marketing ticket with his name on it). After the concert, we went to stakeout The Sheraton hotel where entertainers normally stay. We were sitting in the Krystal…and these two men with Commodores jackets came and sat down behind my friend. They overheard us talking about how we hoped to meet Prince. They introduced themselves and said they'd set up his equipment and they could get us in to meet him.

My friend was doubtful, but we went across the street to the hotel lobby while the two guys went through a set of double-doors. They came back out and said Prince, his band, and Teena Marie…would be willing to meet us….Sure enough, the two men took me to this half-moon shaped table and there sat Prince, his bandmates, and Teena Marie (who was not so nice)…We sat and talked for about 30 mins and Prince said they were not going to actually be staying at that hotel and gave us the name of the hotel where they had reservations. He asked if we knew where it was and if so, could they follow us there. We said 'sure!'

Prince asked if there was a Dunkin Donuts nearby and we told him there was one…on the way to the hotel…They followed us to the Holiday Inn on Victory Road and when we walked in to the room I saw a leopard print thong. I went to stick it in my skirt and Prince said 'Please don't take those—I will make sure you get something to remember me by.' We sat on the beds and had donuts, played charades, and watched an old black and white zombie movie on TV. Before we left, Prince and the band members signed my ticket."
