Stage-used drumhead from Sheila E.'s custom turquoise Yamaha drum kit, which she played on the Sign o' the Times album, tour, and movie, and the Lovesexy album, tour, and music videos in the late 1980s; there is also extensive footage of Prince playing Sheila E.'s drum kit live on tour and at after shows. The complete kit was auctioned off by Sheila E. in 2005, and it was purchased by the Australian retail chain Allans Music; she inscribed the 14˝ Remo Weatherking Ambassador snare drum head in black felt tip in her trademark mirror-image style, "To Allans, thanx, God Bless, Sheila E., 1 Peter 4:16." At that time, she indicated that the kit had been completely untouched since the last show of the Lovesexy tour on February 13, 1989, in Osaka, Japan. The drum kit was displayed in one of the Allans stores for five years before the business collapsed, and one of the employees was able to purchase the kit from the liquidators; he later sold the kit to Paisley Park, but negotiated to keep the signed drum head. In fine condition, with expected signs of use and wear. Accompanied by copies of messages from the Allans employee who acquired the drum kit describing its history, as well as a photocopy of the original certificate from Sheila E. for the complete kit. Boasting excellent provenance and used on two of Prince's biggest world tours, this is a unique Prince-played piece.
