Two sought-after invitation cards for Prince's 27th birthday party at Prom Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 7, 1985, measuring 5.5 x 4.5 closed, one of which has a message written inside by artist Elizabeth Moore in black ink, "Just talk to you on [telephone sketch], L, B, xox." The printed purple text inside both cards reads: "You are requested to attend, 'Around the World in a Day,' Masquerade Ball…Best costume will be judged at midnight. Admits you and one guest, No costume - No admittance." In overall fine condition, with an ownership stamp and pink spots to reverse of blank card. From the collection of Elizabeth Moore and accompanied by a letter of provenance. Moore worked for Prince on the Purple Rain Tour as his personal wardrobe assistant, as well as event designer and decorator; she also worked intimately with Prince designing and creating original artwork for his party invitations and personal holiday cards.
