Handwritten note in pencil by Prince (unsigned but incorporating "Prince" within the text), two pages, 8 x 10.5, no date but circa 1986. A handwritten note to his assistant, with the first page headed, "Songs 2 send 4 band 2 learn. They should work on their own for 1 week get together," in preparation for rehearsals for the Parade tour, including some notes on instrumentation. The songs listed include "Parade," "Alexa de Paris," "Around the World in a Day, concentrated efforts on Condition of the Heart, Temptation, Prince will be playing drums on 'Tamborine,' Bobby will play bongos and tamborine. Matt should learn bass keyboard. (Work on harmonies extensively!)," "Great Balls of Fire, by Jerry Lee Lewis," "Dirty Mind, re-learn," "Sexy Dancer, re-learn," and "The Dance Electric, Linn hooked up 2 digital for echo claps."

The second page provides instructions related to then-tour manager Alan Leeds, in part: "Ask Alan 2 get in contact with Larry Williams saxophone player from L.A. and tell him I need him 2 front a horn section 4 a tour in the spring. Contact Eric and see if he knows trumpet player that can step a little bit and a tenor man who can play baritone. (preferably black)…The band…should get fitted 4 clothes patterned after the movie clothes. Have Lewis & Vaughn draw up sketches & send ASAP!" Although this page is annotated in another hand, "Nice, France 10/85," it is believed that Prince actually wrote this note in the spring of 1986. In fine condition, with frayed notebook holes to the left edge.
