Prince Edward VIII royal document signed ''Edward P'' as Prince of the United Kingdom and Grand Master of the Order of the British Empire. Dated 1 January 1918, document inducts WWI veteran and munitions officer Gilbert Humphreys Esq. into the prestigious Order of the British Empire as an Officer. The seal of the O.B.E. is present to the upper left, bearing its motto, ''For God And The Empire''. The stamped signature of King George IV is present on the top edge of the first page. Signed document runs 2pp., front and verso on a single sheet of card-style paper, leaving one integral blank. Measures 8.25'' x 12.75''. Near fine.
