This primitive hammered metal vessel is believed to date from the nineteenth or early twentieth century and measures 10" across and 9" high. No hallmarks. Possibly made from copper or brass. Fashioned in three sections connected with rivets. It has a spherical or globular shape with narrow neck and has a shape reminiscient of ancient Greek psykter vases used for cooling or decanting wine. Fantastic patina reflects the age of the piece. This item resides on the upper west side of Manhattan ( New York city ) and may be seen by appointment. Thanks for visiting. Please let us know if you have any questions or comments.
