According to information from the January, 2007 issue (#110) of "U.S. Martial Arms Collector & Springfield Research Newsletter", in which this pistol is pictured, this pistol was part of a group shipped to the 124th Cavalry Regiment, Texas National Guard on April 21, 1938. Organized in 1929 and federalized in 1940, the 124th was the last Horse Cavalry unit in the United States Army, finally leaving their horses behind when deployed to the China-Burma-India theater in 1944. Blade front and adjustable rear sights, with standard two line address/ patent markings on the left side of the slide, the Rampant Colt behind the serrations, and the Colt "Ace in diamond" marking on the right. Fitted with a checkered wide hammer, checkered slide catch, magazine catch, arched mainspring housing and checkered walnut grips. The mainspring is shortened, and a set of 6 recoil damping washers are installed in the space.

Condition: Excellent, with 95% of the original blue finish, showing bright wear along the high edges, light handling marks and the start of a mixed brown and gray patina. Grips are very fine, with mild pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
