Featuring the first 18 Presidents from Washington to Grant, pictured as individual oval portraits around the Capitol Building. This artistic piece was published in 1875 by the National Copying Company of Chicago to celebrate the first 100 years of the existence of the highest office in the land. Each President`s facsimile signature is represented at the bottom edge of the piece below their respective images. The 1876 Centennial International Exposition was the first World`s Fair to be held in the United States, in Philadelphia. President Ulysses S. Grant attended the opening ceremonies. This framed piece measures 32" x 24.25". There are two very small stains in the lower right corner, with some very minor damage on the left side to the surrounds of the portraits of G. Washington, J. Adams, W.H. Harrison and Z. Taylor. Overall, a significant and historical representation of American history. Condition is very good to excellent. Extremely rare. -59903
