<B>President of Korea Syngman Rhee Typed Letter Signed</B></I> “<I>Syngman Rhee</B></I>”. One page, 7.25” x 10.25”, dated February 17, 1953, to Henry Luhrs, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, with original envelope, usual fold creases, else fine. In this letter Rhee thanks Luhrs for a previously sent letter. It reads in part: “I want to thank you and other American friends like you who are in sympathy with me in this struggle for freedom.” Included with the group is a March 9, 1953 cover of <I>Time</B></I> with Rhee's portrait. Several copies of a typed response by Luhrs to Rhee are included with the group. Additionally, there a brief autograph note, 8.5” x 3.5”, dated November 18, 1946 and signed “<I>M. B. Ridgway/ Liet. Gen.</B></I>”. Ridgway commanded the U.S. 8th Army in Korea.
