Arthur Cabinet Archive.</B></I> This lot includes a group of seven letters written by men who would ultimately serve in various cabinet positions during Arthur's term as President. Included is a one page typed letter, dated November 25, 1887, signed by Wayne MacVeagh who would later serve as Attorney General; a one page printed document, dated August 24, 1878, signed by future Postmaster General Thomas L. James; a one page letter dated January 23, 1875, signed by future Secretary of the Treasury Charles J. Folger with an additional Folger signature on notepaper; a two page letter dated July 5, 1895 written by William E. Chandler, along with a separate Chandler signature, Arthur's Secretary of the Navy; a signature on a small card of John G. Carlisle, Speaker of the House; and a two page letter addressed to Arthur, dated November 12, 1883 recommending an applicant for a vacant Court of Claims position.
