Gouverneur,</B></I> ALS, 2 pages, Washington, Sep. 20, 1832, to Francis P. Blair, Editor of the Globe, regarding a statement printed in the paper about the Seminole War. In part: "<I>I had the honor of addressing you, respecting a remark which had appeared in your paper of the 9th preceding, in the following words -- 'In conducting the Seminole War, Gen. Jackson was in fact acting under the secret orders of the Government.'</B></I>" Usual mail folds and light soiling with a small tear at integral sheet fold affecting a single word. <BR><B><BR>Samuel D. Ingham,</B></I> ALS, 2 pages, 7.75" x 10", Fenton, Feb. 7, 1853, to an unnamed recipient thanking him for a geological report and discussing in great detail the issuance of small silver coins and gold pieces.
